According to data from Statista, global e-commerce sales were an estimated $5.2 trillion in 2021.

Yet 99% of beginner entrepreneurs quit before they ever achieve any real success.

Why?

One of the most prominent reasons why most beginner entrepreneurs fail is shiny object syndrome ( speaking from personal experience from my first few years). This is where you become easily distracted by the latest trends, new opportunities, or hear about something new and lose focus on your current business goals. This leads to constantly switching between different ventures and never fully committing to any one project, which ultimately leads to failure.

Another common reason for quitting is that the cost of starting and running an online business can be too high for some beginners. This may include the cost of building and maintaining a website, purchasing marketing tools or software, and hiring employees or contractors. If the cost of running the business exceeds the revenue it generates, it can be difficult for you to continue. After all, if you’re trying to start making money online, you probably don’t have much spare change laying around to begin with.

Many beginners also feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information and advice available online, which makes it difficult to know where to start and what strategies to pursue. This often leads to indecision and a lack of direction, which leads to quitting.

Luckily, there is a solution to all of these problems, and it’s name is WordPress.

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its ease of use, versatility, customization, scalability, and cost. Today it is so widely used by individuals, small businesses, and large corporations to create and manage websites that over 40% of all websites on the internet are built with it.

WordPress is Extremely Beginner Friendly

One of the biggest advantages of using WordPress is its simplicity. Even if you are a beginner with little to no coding experience, you can easily set up and customize a professional-looking website using WordPress. The platform offers a range of both paid and free templates and plugins that allow you to add features such as contact forms, shopping carts, and social media integration with just a few clicks.

WordPress can be easily installed on most web hosting platforms (such as GoDaddy) with just a few clicks. There is no need to manually configure databases or server settings, and it has a user-friendly dashboard that allows you to manage your website, write and publish content, and customize the appearance of your site seamlessly.

The large library of pre-designed templates (also known as “themes”) allow you to quickly and easily create a professional-looking website, and its vast library of plugins allow you to add and expand functionality for just about anything you could need.

Many of the themes are also designed to be responsive, meaning they will automatically adjust to look good on different devices, including desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones.

There’s Nothing You Can’t Do With WordPress

WordPress is so popular because of its flexibility, versatility, and many customization features. It can be used to create any type of website, from a simple personal blog to a fully-featured online store. It also supports multiple languages, making it an ideal choice for businesses targeting global audiences.

If you want to:

  • Sell Physical or Digital Products: Simply Install the WooCommerce Plugin
  • Promote Your Business or Services: Use the Free Elementor Plugin to Easily Design Drag-and-Drop Sales and Landing Pages
  • Create a Free or Paid Membership Site: Check Out the BuddyPress plugin.
  • Earn From Writing Blog Posts: Join Google Adsense to Get Paid by Google for Allowing Ads on Your Site (Plus You Can Promote Affiliate Products Simultaneously)
  • Turn Your Audience Into Leads & Clients Through Sales Funnels: Connect Your Website to Platforms like Kartra or Aweber

WordPress can do it all.

It is, for all intents and purposes, a platform with limitless possibilities.

Additionally, one of the key benefits of WordPress is its search engine optimization (SEO) capabilities. The platform is designed to be SEO-friendly, with features such as custom URLs and the ability to add tags and keywords to your content.

This can help to improve your website’s visibility in search results, attracting more traffic and potential customers. Combine this with the power of something like the free Yoast SEO plugin, and people will be finding your website in no time!

Learning WordPress Immediately Gives You a Profitable Skill

In today’s digital world, just about every company on the planet needs a website in order to be successful.

Nevermind the money you can make with WordPress from product sales and/or passive income on your own websites, but learning how to build websites using WordPress immediately gives you a skill that allows you to turn around and sell websites to other people and businesses that need them as well.

Using WordPress Saves You a Ton of Money Compared To Other Platforms and Services

Not only is WordPress free to use, but there are many free themes and plugins available as well that allow you to do pretty much everything, making it a cost-effective choice for solopreneurs.

Just a few examples include:

  • Membership Platforms (Circle = $49/mo | WordPress = Free)
  • Website Builders (Wix = $22/mo for 1 Site | WordPress w/ GoDaddy Deluxe Hosting = $7.99/mo for 10 Sites)
  • Funnel and Landing Page Builders (ClickFunnels = $127/mo | WordPress w/ Elementor & Contact Form Plugins = Free)

WordPress Inevitably Exposes You to Every Other Digital Skill

Besides having a standard web presence such as a website or social media platform, there is a lot of additional skills that go into online business:

  • Copywriting
  • Marketing
  • Content Creation
  • Audience Engagement
  • Lead Generation
  • Customer Acquisition

Learning how to use WordPress not only exposes you to many of these other skills, but it can actually help you learn them as well because your website is the bridge that connects everything else together.

In order to make sales and landing pages, you need to practice copywriting.

In order to create blog posts, you need to practice not only copywriting, but content creation as well, which helps with other social media platforms and vice versa.

In order to get traffic to your website, you need to practice content creation on other platforms as well as search engine optimization (SEO).

In order to get leads and sales, you need to practice marketing as well as lead generation and customer acquisition through auto-mailers and funnel campaigns.

The Power of WordPress is Undeniable

Most beginner online entrepreneurs fail and quit because they either get distracted by constantly moving on to new things, they spend too much money, or they get overwhelmed and have no sense of direction.

But if you focus on mastering one specific skill such as WordPress that combines all of the skills and resources you need, you will find it much easier to succeed. Overall, WordPress is a powerful and user-friendly tool that every beginner solopreneur should consider learning.

Whether you are looking to create a simple blog, a complex online store, earn income passively, or sell web design as a service, WordPress has all the features and capabilities you need without ever having to leave the platform.

By taking the time to learn how to use it effectively, you can quickly and easily create professional-looking and monetizable websites that will help you stand out and grow your business from multiple angles.

WordPress also has a large and active community of users and developers who constantly contribute to the platform. This means that you can easily find support and resources online if you ever have any questions or need help.
